Well I don't hate rock concerts as my title suggests, but I hate certain kind of rock music and festivals.. the kind that are literal screams instead of singing , that shriek instead of sounding remotely like anything real music sounds like. In fact if you tape me screaming I reckon you could turn that into a hit.. add some head banging with some very bad background music and you have a heavy metal/rock hit. I do tend to have very high pitched vocal cords so this will mix in well (no skill required there).
So the thing is.. the concert/festival I went to yesterday was a nightmare indeed..but it was entered into voluntarily by myself with good intention. HOWEVER I knew how bad this would be.. imagine your worst kind of music and having to spend five hours in a concert listening to it.. but then imagine you are 32 years old (or 5months till you turn 32) or older ..surrounded by 18 year old teeny boppers all around you, who not only are drunk as skunks but they smell like skunks too. Now add to the mix 30 degree heat with almost 100 percent humidity, filth all around you, queues to wait to get into the toilet that take 30 minutes (when you could wee in your pants) and then finally some nice rain while you wait and ask yourself when is the hell going to end? all this while you are outside listening to some more screaming. So what did I do to ease my pain you ask? I just accepted this was my fate for the day and danced in the rain! What would you do? Lesson Learnt : This is not my bag and it is NEVER TO BE DONE AGAIN unless it is with music that is my taste .. like the artists and bands I have on my blog . So what would you do when faced with such an ordeal?
Meanwhile, while we are on the subject of rock here is a rock band I wouldn't mind seeing live, you see, they are not all that bad and I don't hate all rock.. here is what I consider to be good rock music ..
Nice song Cand ;) does that mean that a Nickelback concert is not off the table ?
