"End of the Road" was performed by Boyz II Men in 1992 for the Motown Label and ended up their most successful single. It won a 1992 Grammy and was written and produced by "Babyface". This song was recorded for the Soundtrack of the movie "Boomerang" starring Eddie Murphy and talked about a break up where the man doesn't want the woman to go.
This is such a good song, Boyz II Men were just pure talent and their harmonies were always incredible.Part of the reason I love this song are all the memories I take from it. My first year starting high school , Standard 6, in other words the 8th Grade. Twas the year 1993 and this song was a huge hit at the time. I had a huge crush on one of the prefects who was in Standard 10, in other words the 12th Grade ( all the rest of the girls crushed on him too) and he didn't even know I existed.I would stand around the prefects room( all the prefects had a special room) and I would wait for him to come out ( along with the rest of the girls) so I could catch a glimpse of this Hunk( a term used back in the 90's I believe, so corny hehe). I was just this innocent, tubby 13 year old starting in a new school ,with a big crush, making (or trying to make ) new friends. Eventually I found my little group ,unfortunately for me at the time I was never part of the "In crowd". This song will always reflect that time in my life but that is not a bad thing.
Now that I am older and wiser I know that I may not have made it into the "popular crowd" and I may not have gotten my year long crush to notice me, but the beginning of High School for me was exactly that , it was just the beginning. The beginning of a much greater gift , some of the very special friendships I made that year and we sustained all these years later.
